And no, University had absolutely nothing to do with the big systems hung from helicopters. They were powered by custom built solid state amps. I saw a couple being built, no way to confuse with the University, it's a toy by comparison.


Went over to unofficial, remembered Todd had a couple TL's on the Giant voice stuff, but the links are not working.

GPA does have a sales lit partial for the stuff. Only pic is 3 multicells in an array with dual 290's

The two systems I saw being built were 203's in a radial configuration each with dual 290's.
There's a page in the 1968 Altec catalog (that I posted this link for in an earlier thread) devoted to the "Giant Voice" system--some info and photos (also confirms it is definitely an Altec product, not University).....
